Palolem Beach is the most beautiful beach, although not as peaceful as it used to be, in all of Goa. It is surrounded by hills on both sides, resulting in a calm, idyllic sea in which you can walk into up to 100 meters.

Palolem is a beach of white sand facing a blue bay The beach is long and entirely filled with rooms, huts and restaurants.  Sometimes you come across live band and  music. 

There is a tourist market nearby.  Walk the beach at night with a flashlight and you'll be amazed by crabs. Take a walk to the butterfly island.

You will see this island to your left on entering the beach. You can walk along the beach and across some rocks during low tide and reach the island.

For more adventure, you can traverse the rocks on the periphery of the island. It's just beautiful. But make sure you carry your water bottle.

How to reach

Palolem is just 3 km away from Canacona Railway Junction, now on the Konkan Railway. You can hire taxis and auto-rickshaws to reach Palolem beach from Margao, 40 km away. There are regular buses from Margao to Palolem and you can take a drop at Canacona village.
