The Mahatma Gandhi (MG) National Park is located about 30 Kms away from the capital city of Port Blair in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. It comprises of 15 small and large Islands of which only three are open to visitors.
It is home to fifty types of corals, exotic fish, beautiful jungles, good beaches, mangroves, and bird life; it is Andaman & Nicobar's popular tourist hangouts.
Only Jolly Buoy Islands, Cinque Islands and Red Skin are accessible to tourists; overnight stay is not permitted here.
Viewing of rare corals and underwater marine life through glass bottom boats, Scuba diving and Snorkeling are some of the adventure activities in the Park.
To get to the park, you have to first go to the village of Wandoor, 30 Km southwest of Port Blair. There is a bus from Port Blair to Wandoor (1½ hr). From Wandoor boat jetty, boats visit some of the islands in the park. There are also conducted tours to the park.
