Kemmangundi is a popular weekend getaway spot to many, from Bangalore. Kemmangundi is located 55 kms north of Chikmagalur District, in South-Central Karnataka. This is a beautiful and picturesque hill station, situated on the Baba Budan range at a height of 1434 mts.

KemmangundiAround 8 kms from Kemmangundi are the Hebbe Falls where the water gushes down from a height of 168 m in two stages. The Kalhatti Falls are 10 Kms from Kemmangundi. The water here cascades down a height of 122 m. There is also a local temple here, constructed in a gap between two rocks.
This was the summer retreat of Raja Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV and as a mark of respect to the king, it is also known as Sri Krishnarajendra Hill Station.
Surrounded by the Baba Budangiri Range and blessed with cascading mountain streams, and lush vegetation in the vicinity, Kemmangundi beautifully laid-out ornamental gardens and enchanting mountains and valleys views are a treat to the eye.
The spectacular sunset view from the Raj Bhavan is a photographer's delight. For those adventurous souls, Kemmangundi offers many peaks to scale and intricate jungle paths to explore.
