Many tourists would know only the Bandipur National park, Nagahole wildlife sanctuary and Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary as wildlife destinations. But there are more than 20 wildlife sanctuaries spread all over Karnataka.
Snake Bird at RanganathittuWell known among them are Nagarhole Wildlife Sanctuary in Kodagu district, Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary, Gudavi and Mandegadde Bird Sanctuaries and Sharavati Wildlife Sanctuary in Shimoga District, Biligirirangan Hills (BR HIlls) Wild Life Sanctuary in Chamarajanagar district, Ranganthittu Bird Sanctuary in Mandya district, Brahmagiri Wildlife Sanctuary and Pushpagiri Wildlife Sanctuary in Kodagu district. Besides, the interior dry regions have their own unique flora and fauna.
