Havelock Island

Havelock Island is about 55 Kms from Port Blair, the capital city of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Mostly inhabited by Bengali settlers this island is a popular tourist attraction of the Andamans.

Here you can find turquoise waters, sandy beaches, swaying coconut tree and the rich marine life - dolphins, turtles and different types of large fish. Elephants are also present in the island, but they are tamed and are mainly for tourists.

The villages in the island are referred by their numbers; you can hire scooters / bikes at the local villages here to see around Havelock. For more adventure, you can ride down from Port Blair.

Camping facility is available near Radhanagar beach. A guesthouse of Tourism Department "Dolphin Resort" is available for the tourists.

There are speedboats and ferries from Port Blair that operate Monday to Saturday from the Phoenix Bay Jetty in Port Blair.
