Churches of Goa

Goa's churches are another attraction apart from its beaches. Many of the churches here were built during the Portuguese occupation; most churches are concentrated in Old Goa, close to the state capital in Panaji.

Though many of these churches have a distinct European architecture, churches built later (after the Portuguese rule) carry a blend of Indian and Western building styles.

These Churches also served as a place for development of Christianity in this and surrounding regions of India.

Explore Goa's past by visiting Goa's churches. You can reserve a day or two for seeing these monuments or see them while you are at a particular destination in Goa. (Photo - monkeyimages)
