Bannerghatta national Park is about 18 kms from Bangalore (Bengaluru), adjoining the Anekal forest area, is this beautiful national park. Bannerghatta is a wild stretch of forest set apart for animals. The major attraction is the lion & tiger safari. A safari van is also available to tour the park.
Behind the Park is a beautiful hillock. At the foothills is a temple devoted to Lord Srinivasa. One can take a short trek up the hillock to find another small temple located above with a pond in front of it.
Bannerghatta is a popular tourist spot. It is well connected with the main city by road and there are regular bus services to it from various parts of the city. It houses a Snake Park, A Crocodile Park and a Zoo enclosure with variety of other animals. There is also an elephant ride available for children.
Relaxing Tiger at BannerGhatta
You can find everything from avifauna to panthers in the Bannerghatta National Park . The 25,000 acre park is home to panthers, lions, tigers and a large variety of birds. Indulge your sense of adventure with a lion and tiger safari. Wander through the Zoological Garden, with its canopy of shady and sturdy trees, find a quiet resting spot beside a pond and watch waterfowl frolic.
The zoo boasts an amazing reptile collection; a snake park lets you get up close and personal with the scaly, slithery creatures. A children's corner provides an added attraction. Trekking enthusiasts will enjoy Uddigebande (3.5 kms.) a natural rock formation called Hajjamana Kallu (3 kms) and Mirza Hill (1.5 kms)

Jungle Lodges and Resorts have a resort here called the Bannerghatta Nature Camp. This resort is situated inside the park. They conduct guided wildlife and eco-tours which covers areas within the park and lanmaks around it. You could opt for a single day tour or stay overnight in specially constructed log-huts, dormitories, tents or cottages. A day trip in this resort costs about Rs 600 and an overnight stay in the log-hut costs about Rs 2000. The rate is for a single person and includes food as well. You can get in touch with them at:
