Andhra Pradesh is known as the "Rice Bowl of India". Andhra Pradesh (AP) State is a renowned tourist centre in South Indian tourist circuit. The AP State is blessed with colourful topographical features and geographically well located.
It is to the south Vindhayas and Satpura ranges of South India and most parts of the state is right on the Deccan Plateau. The features range from Highlands, undulating plains to a coastal belt. Andhra Pradesh is the State with the longest coastline (about 972 kms) in India.
AP has a rich heritage legacy and is also rich in cultural and traditions. AP's royal dynasties of the past; its most revered temple (the second richest religious centre in the world after the Vatican) Tirumala & Tirupati; its music like sounding language Telugu; its lacquer toys and fine textiles; rich literature; vibrant Kuchipudi classical dance form all adds up AP's splendor.
Andhra Pradesh has a plethora of tourist spots one should see and those definitely will keep you baffled for a long time. There are ruins, palaces, museums, and ports one can visit, and finally there is Tirumala-Tirupathi where you can have the blessings of Lord Venkatesha, the presiding deity.
This large state has become quite important to India in the techno savvy age of computers, software, cyber optics and virtual reality. The state is advancing rapidly.
Do take time and make efforts to discover the treasures of Andhra Pradesh. Many visitors miss a lot due to the sheer size of AP. But the fact is that the major attractions are spread across the state and the terrain is rough though. But, if you chose carefully, Andhra Pradesh is as worthwhile a destination in South Indian tourism like its more popular South Indian neighbours, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka.
Andhra Pradesh can be seen as a beautiful region bubbling with its exotic crafts and lively religious festivals, a glorious historical legacy and mouth watering Andhra and Hyderabadi cuisine. But one should not forget the charming people and the melodious Telugu language. All of them make lasting impressions on the visitor.
