The temple was established by devotees who migrated from Goa about 400-500 years ago. The presiding deities are Shri Mahaganapathi (Vinayaka) and Shri Mahamaya (Shantadurga). Shirali is about 6 Kms from Murudeshwar, in Coastal Karnataka
