Dasara Kolu Photo Slideshow

Dasara is a 9-night festival celebrated all over India usually in the months of September-October each year. This year (2008) Dasara is celebrated from the 30st of September to 9th of October.

Dasara Kolu is a festival of dolls during which dolls depicting Hindu deities are placed in descending stairs. These are seen most in South India

Apart from this themes are used creating miniature parks, towns etc..

Just below the display of dolls a an idol of the God is placed and offered prayers everyday. Visitors are invited every evening where they are offered Prasadams usually consisting of 'Sundal" a quick dish made out of Pulses.
